Sticky Sesame Tofu

This is my favourite way to eat tofu - if you’re not a tofu lover, this will convert you! The tofu is pan fried until crispy and then tossed with a sticky and spicy sauce - it is so more-ish!

Sticky Sesame Tofu

Serves: 2

Ingredients

  • 1 block of tofu
  • Cornflour
  • Salt & Pepper
Sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp gochujang
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • Knob of ginger, minced
To serve
  • Rice
  • Sesame seeds
  • Spring onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu between pieces of kitchen paper to remove excess moisture and make it extra crispy.
  2. Stir together the ingredients for the sauce.
  3. Cut the tofu into cubes and toss in cornflour, salt & pepper.
  4. Pan fry the tofu in a generous drizzle of oil on medium-high heat until golden and crispy on all sides.
  5. Add in the spring onions and sesame seeds, before pouring in the sauce. Toss everything together until the tofu is coated in the sticky sauce.
  6. Serve with rice and enjoy!
